From grief to joy: Dr. Miliama Simeona

The family members of the late Dr. Miliama Simeona had another get-together last Saturday, 10 October 2020 as the closure of the period of mourning and grief in respect of the late Dr. Miliama Simeona who passed away on Sunday, 27 September 2020 and laid to rest on Saturday, 03 October 2020.

This gathering was held beside the grave of the late Dr. Simeona and very close relatives from the family of her husband, Capt. Teitimani Simeona and especially the family of Dr. Simeona.

Amongst those who were in attendance included the Prime Minister, Hon Kausea Natano, Rev Tofiga Falani and cousins of the ate Dr. Simeona from the mother’s side.

The program began at about 11.00am with a prayer conducted by Rev Tofiga Falani, the family chaplain and then tea followed and few performances by the daughters of the late Dr. Simeona’s cousins.

At about 2.00pm, lunch was served and then followed by a few speeches. Husband Capt. Teitimani Simeona reflected on the late Dr. Miliama Simeona’s life and he thanked God for giving him such a very beautiful and loving wife.

Although their time together was short for about 21 years, they really enjoyed every part of it.

Finally, he said, “today’s gathering is no longer a time of grief but it is a time of joy and that we should celebrate.”
